At St Augustine of Hippo Galveston, we believe the church has a mission, because God has a mission – the salvation & reconciliation of the world. Our mission is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

God‘s got a mission & God loves you. This is the message that we hope to spread in our community as we share the love of Jesus Christ through our ministry programs. Continuing a 140 year tradition of ‘St Aug’ on Galveston Island.
Our History
Established in 1884, because of 50 sailors who stood up for others, St Augustine of Hippo Galveston continues to be a voice of Justice in the community. For over 140 years, identifying injustice and working within the available systems to facilitate change. Bringing hope for continued growth by continuing a history of serving others and sharing the Good News.

Our church is led by a team of dedicated lay leaders who are supported by loving clergy committed to serving our congregation and community.
